Learn about 18th century hearth cooking techniques, food preservation methods, and create a meal with seasonal ingredients from Coggeshall's garden. Enjoy it by candlelight in Coggeshall's historic farmhouse with your family or group. 

Location: Coggeshall Farmhouse. Limit of 8 participants. Available May - November.

plan a spring garden

Learn about how to plan and prepare your garden for spring. You'll take home a specialized garden plan and heirloom seeds to start before the ground thaws. 

Location: Sisson-Champlin Education Center. Limit of 10 participants

Coggeshall kids and teens

Children and teens can try their skill at 18th century games, spinning wool, make candles or lip balms, or cook a dish over the hearth.

Location: Coggeshall Farmhouse. Limit of 10 participants.


Help us complete carpentry tasks around the farm while learning basic woodworking techniques. Build fences, split wood, or try your hand at sawing. 

Location: Workyard. Limit of 6 participants ages 14 and up.
