Turkey Time (Ages 4+)

Cornucopia Creations (Ages 7+)
The history of the cornucopia as a sign of the abundance of harvest and gratitude dates back to ancient Greek mythology. Nowadays, it has become a common Thanksgiving decoration. Learn more about the history of this interesting symbol and create a candy version to take home.
Pumkin Pie Baking (Ages 9+)
Bake a pumpkin pie from scratch using sugar pumpkins grown at the farm. Learn all of the steps from making a pumpkin puree to a basic crust and cooking in a Dutch oven in the hearth. Finish off the program by whipping some cream as the perfect pie topper.
BREAK: 10:30 a.m. – 11:00 a.m.

Oh Deer (Ages 4+)
One of the most plentiful wild animals at the farm is the deer. Search for signs of deer on the nature trail: fur, antlers, tracks, and scat. Create a deer craft to bring home and share with family. If we are luck,y we could see some deer at the field edges.
Clay Leaf Imprints (Ages 7+)
Preserve the last of the falling leaves by making a clay keepsake. Head out on the farm in search of fun-shaped leaves. Learn about the different types of trees we have at the farm by the leaves we find. Finish off the program by making a leaf copy in clay.
Woodworking – Carve a Wooden Spoon (Ages 9+)
Get ready for Thanksgiving by carving your own spoon! Learn about the history of wood carving and see some of the spoons, bowls, and historic tools we have in our collection. Each participant will begin carving a spoon from a wooden spoon blank that they will get to take home.
