Call for Artists – Now Accepting Proposals
CowParade is coming to our partner museum, Old Sturbridge Village – and you’re invited to unleash your creativity and be a part of this celebrated tradition that has traveled the globe.
Whether you’re a painter, sculptor, craftsperson, or simply an incredibly creative individual (or team!), CowParade welcomes artists of all levels to apply—from acclaimed professionals to enthusiastic amateurs. A panel of renowned judges from New England will select standout designs to become part CowParade at the Village.
Moo’ving Facts:
- 250 million people on 6 continents and in 32 countries have seen CowParade
- 7,000 cows have been painted and transformed by over 15,000 artists
- Past CowParade have been held in Austin, Barcelona, Boston, Bucharest, Chicago, Kansas City, Florence, London, Madrid, Milan, Monaco, Rio, Sao Paulo and more.
If your cow design is chosen…
The cows will go “on parade” at Old Sturbridge Village in early summer 2025, with a select few showcased right here at Coggeshall Farm Museum in Bristol, R.I. As the season winds down in September, these unique artworks will be rounded up for a special auction. Proceeds from the sale will benefit Old Sturbridge Village, ensuring that this vibrant public art event continues to support our commitment to living history, animals, agriculture, trades and arts, and early life in rural New England.
How to Apply
You may submit up to five designs to be considered in any of the following categories:
- Life in New England: Designs that celebrate the essence of life in New England. We encourage submissions inspired by Old Sturbridge Village, drawing from our rich textiles and wallpaper, historic homes, charming gardens, traditional trades, and our extensive museum collection. Explore our collection online at OSV Collections for inspiration.
- America 250: Designs that honor the 250th anniversary of the signing of the Declaration of Independence, reflecting the spirit of our nation’s founding. Your artwork should capture the resilience and vision of our founding fathers, celebrating the ideals that shaped America.
- Artist’s Choice: Designs with limitless creative freedom! Artists are invited to express their unique vision and style, exploring any theme or concept that resonates with them. Whether it’s a personal narrative, a cultural reflection, or an abstract interpretation, let your imagination run wild and showcase your individuality through your art.
