Volunteerism and community action have long been the heart and soul of Coggeshall Farm Museum.
From its founding days, people came together around the common idea of preserving a uniquely Rhode Island historic treasure. But they went farther — they brought history to life by sharing their skills, passion and resources.
Coggeshall Farm Museum's needs change from season to season, year to year.
We routinely recruit volunteers for the following tasks:
Grounds maintenance: brush clearing, fence mending, builing maintence, lawn mowing, wood processing
Gardening: planting, weeding, watering, pest control, harvesting, moving and turning compost
Interpretation: daily interpretation of our 18th century salt-marsh tenant farm, interpretation for educational programming and special events*, interpretation in historic kit (limited clothing availabile), interpetation of fiber arts
We also consider interns with special skill sets who can contribute to our efforts.
Email McKayla Hoffman or call 401-253-9062 for more information on how you can help.
*Volunteers who work on site must be at least 14 years of age. All volunteers working with the public will be asked to submit a BCI and CORI check and volunteer application.
